Bringing In The Old

I'm in the process of closing my Myspace account completely, but don't want to lose the blog entries I've posted there, so the first several posts here will be imports from there...

In the posts below, stories are in pale yellow, any comments I've added editorially are in bright green, and links are whatever...and, as a disclaimer-I make no money from this blog, so don't try to use it yourself to do so. All items are used under fair usage policies.

Never Forget

It's an image that those who witnessed it when it was happening will never forget: On June 4, 1989, a lone young man in Tianaien Square in Beijing, China, stood in front of oncoming tanks and defied the collective despotic government of the People's Republic of China.  This is what the words "freedom of expression" truly mean.

While this individual was eventually apprehended and killed by his own government, his act should never be forgotten, either in his country or ours. Here's what you can do:
Copy the picture above.  It's not copyrighted.  And every June 4th, take a few minutes to post it in the public forums you participate in.  Not only does this simple and virtually free act remember his brave sacrifice and piss off the dictatorial regime that had him killed, but it also serves to remind us in our countries of the true value of freedom.
